Bloomberg Appoints Robert Lieber to Doctoroff's Post

President of the N.Y.C Economic Development Corporation Robert Lieber will be the new Deputy Mayor for Economic Development, according to a statement from Bloomberg's office. He will replace Bloomberg’s longtime aide Dan Doctoroff, who announced he was stepping down earlier this month.

Bloomberg has also named Ed Skyler, the current Deputy Mayor for Administration, the new Deputy Mayor for Operations. Skyler’s list of responsibilities have grown to now include the departments of transportation, environmental protection, taxis, and, "the Mayor's office of Operations/Long-Term Planning and Sustainability." [corrected]

And not to be over looked in today's announcements: Communications Director Jim Anderson and Press Secretary Stu Loeser “will now report directly to the Mayor."
