Explosion at News Corp Headquarters

One person was injured in an explosion at the News Corp. headquarters on Sixth Avenue this morning, a fire department spokesman told Media Mob.

There was a chemical explosion in a 45th floor mechancial room, according to the spokesman. He said that the first call came in at 10:39am. Floors 42 through 45 have been evacuated from the building, and there are 12 units and more than 50 firefighters at the scene. The one person injured is not considered to have life-threatening injuries, the spokesman said.
