FNC's Wallace: Dems 'Pandering to the Far-Left Wing'

via foxnews.com

Fox News' Chris Wallace unloads to The Politico about the Democratic presidential candidates' refusal to appear on debates moderated by his network:

"Just imagine if the Republicans, under pressure from right-to-life groups, refused to appear on CNN or MSNBC. I think there would be holy unshirted hell. I think there would be such talk about these people being captives of the extreme right wing and why are they afraid to answer questions. And I think the absence of that is very telling.

"At this point, it has become kind of a loyalty test inside the Democratic Party, ... pandering to the far-left-wing. And we live with it."

Conservatives make this analogy frequently, but most efforts to measure bias have shown that Fox News tilts right to a far greater degree than its rivals tilt left. And most impartial cable viewers would likely agree.

Mr. Wallace's argument may succeed at making Fox News appear to be a victim of left-wing extremism. But it doesn't bear much relation to reality.

the idea that democrats or repulicans appearing on your broadcast does not matter to most americans. Most americans know they will never tell the truth. they have never told the truth in public forms and never will. Some times you may catch them off guard but not on the airways. Run a national poll, ask the question do you trust the politican of either party or any goverment employee to tell the the truth to the american people in a public broadcast. Look at the c.i.a.,f.bi.the f.c.c f.d.a the federal reserve. look at the mess they have made ,and they are not alone there are many many more of these agency that need to BE shut down for ever and a day.

Fox's tilt to the right balances most of the media's tilt to the left. It's all a matter of perspective.
The Dems aren't accustomed to being challenged or getting tough questions. So, not surprisingly, they're afraid to go on Chris Wallace's show. Wallace is tough. I've seen him drill Republicans mercilessly with questions. That's what voters want to see. Wallace would be equally merciless with Democrats and and apparently, that scares them. They say Fox is unfairly "right wing", so they have banned together to boycott it. That will only work for so long. It only makes the Dems look weak and unsure of their own convictions.

And there's any surprise here? Of course the Democrats are pandering to the looney anti-war Left. Their refusal to
go on FNC will contribute to their further demise.
As long as the DNC chooses to play to the urban centers on the Coats they'll never win the Middle of the Country, which have historically been voting Conservatively. Any dream that the Middle will go Liberal is an indication that you Liberals have been hitting the weed a little too often as of late....

If Mr. Wallace is correct, we will see proof of it soon enough. Moving back to the center in a general election grows more difficult with each previous step taken toward the outer extremes. Under the intense light of an important election masking who you really are and what you really believe is nearly impossible. And I say that believing myself that 90% of the mainsteam media people are gonna be rooting for the Democrats.

"Most efforts to measure bias have shown that Fox News tilts further right to a far greater degree than its rivals tilt left" ....

This is patently absurd. What "efforts" are we talking about? I watch a lot of news and I've never heard of any "effort" that came to this conclusion. Please notice how no source or proof is cited for this ridiculous assertion.

Pashley (not verified) says:

"Most" name one? "measures" what are the metrics? "have shown that Fox News tilts further right" what is the right? "to a far greater degree" again, what are the metrics "than its rivals" name names, please. Yea, we know the suspects, but we can't take the spotlight off Fox now, can we? "than its rivals tilt left."

This article is to news like a Coke is to health food. Americans everywhere will watch in quiet satisfaction as each "news" outlet after another consolidates or goes belly up.
