Jon Bon Jovi Gets Lucky: $2 M. Penthouse Discount

The New York Post called big-haired Jersey pop heartthrob Jon Bon Jovi a “$26 Million Man.” That was the price he paid, according to the newspaper, for the New Museum penthouse duplex on Mercer Street, a 7,400-square-foot spread that had been listed for $26.5 million.

But according to deeds filed in city records, which uses the rocker’s name John Bongiovi, his purchase price was really $24,000,000. Pocket change!

Co-listing broker Leonard Steinberg of Prudential Douglas Elliman told The Observer earlier this month that the spread falls “in the world-class realm of magnificence.” It’s true: There are six bedrooms, six baths (and two powder rooms), three terraces, two kitchens and a gym.

But how does the New Museum tower compare to the upcoming Trump Soho nearby? “Trump’s is a condo hotel," Mr. Steinberg said. "This is not about having your breakfast delivered to you. It’s about having full-time help, more than likely.”

Dear Max Abelson,

our company enjoys reading you articles about celebrities lifestyle. We are opening a real estate plattform in austria - vienna and also have a magazine part about lifestyle and glamour. What we want to ask if it´s somehow possible that we use some of your articles for our Magazine Part including pictures of those properties if they are available.

Please let us know what you think about my idea.

Thank you very much

Best Regards
