Jon Bon Jovi Gets Lucky: $2 M. Penthouse Discount
The New York Post called big-haired Jersey pop heartthrob Jon Bon Jovi a “$26 Million Man.” That was the price he paid, according to the newspaper, for the New Museum penthouse duplex on Mercer Street, a 7,400-square-foot spread that had been listed for $26.5 million.
But according to deeds filed in city records, which uses the rocker’s name John Bongiovi, his purchase price was really $24,000,000. Pocket change!
Co-listing broker Leonard Steinberg of Prudential Douglas Elliman told The Observer earlier this month that the spread falls “in the world-class realm of magnificence.” It’s true: There are six bedrooms, six baths (and two powder rooms), three terraces, two kitchens and a gym.
But how does the New Museum tower compare to the upcoming Trump Soho nearby? “Trump’s is a condo hotel," Mr. Steinberg said. "This is not about having your breakfast delivered to you. It’s about having full-time help, more than likely.”
