Real Estate TV: Downturn? What Downturn?

The Observer's media blog had a pre-Christmas post on the continued popularity of TV shows about residential real estate, despite the housing market calamities of recent months:

...[W]hile residential real estate has slowed down significantly in markets around the country, its television equivalent is showing no sign of flagging.

To wit: The Fine Living TV Network announced yesterday that it is launching three new shows this January that revolve around real estate, including "Dream House" on Monday, Jan. 7, "Buy Me" on Tuesday, Jan. 8, and "Bought & Sold" on Wednesday, Jan. 23.
