Bloomberg on Romney's Departure

After hearing that Mitt Romney would likely drop out of the Republican primary, Michael Bloomberg told reporters at a press conference in Midtown this morning that he felt "sorry" for him, and hoped he would stay active in public life.

"It's sad because I know how much they've tried and they put their heart and their soul, and in many cases, their personal wealth into it," Bloomberg said. "They believe they can make a difference.

"I've known Mitt Romney casually, I've sat at a dinner with him a couple of times I think in my life. You know, if he has to drop out, I feel sorry for him, but that's a decision that he should make. He's devoted a lot of his life to public service and hopefully he will continue to do that in another form if he does drop out."

"If he has to drop out." Are you kidding? Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Yeah, he's dropping out, Bloomberg. He should have done that a long time ago.

You just know Mitt Romney is following the life philosophy of his old pal and friend, Timothy Leary:

"Turn on, tune in, drop out." Yep, Mitt Romney is a big fan of the now-deceased Timothy Leary.

Maybe Romney had a bad trip on LSD. Or is it LDS?

I have known people who call Mormons LSD. For Romney, being LDS was a bad trip on his way to the White House.

Romney was so cheap and frugal being driven in his multi-colored 1967 Volkswagen van. The "Summer of Love" sticker didn't win many Republican votes. Kind of surprising!!

Now, Romney can return to his favorite city, San Francisco.
