Carrion Co-Chair Is Impeachment Proponent

Only after Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion named Elizabeth Holtzman a co-chair of his city comptroller campaign did I realize that she is an outspoken proponent of impeaching George W. Bush--a movement that hasn't gained much traction even in heavily Democratic New York State (although it's slightly more popular in Vermont).

A former city comptroller, congresswoman and district attorney in Brooklyn, Holtzman has written a book and articles on the topic--just last Sunday, she spoke to Democratic activists in Manhattan about impeachment.

When I asked Carrion's office if the borough president holds the same view as his co-chair, communications director Anne Fenton e-mailed back:

"BP is proud of Holtzman's support, but he does not comment on his supporters' political position on national issues."

Snapperheads. The only other people more stupid than her are the communists in Vermont.
Ten months to go, what's the point??

You might have mentioned her role in Nixon's impeachment and her subsequent questioning of Gerald Ford on his pardon of Nixon.

In a career that crashed and burned over her ambition to be a US Senator, that moment remains the shining one of her public life.

What's the point?
The point is the subversion of the Constitution.
Either you take our founding document seriously
or you do not. Cheney and Bush have violated their
oaths of office; with catastrophic results for the nation.
It does not matter whether they leave office in 10 months or 10 days; we are in a Constitutional Crisis, that will end only with their crimes exposed.

The only reason more people aren't calling for impeachment is that they have no faith in the ability of our political system to enforce legality. Bush's contempt for law, democracy, and the people is just the way it is. Same as a devastated neighborhood where nobody calls the cops when they see a crime committed. It's not that they like what the criminal is doing, it's that they don't think the cops represent anything different. As a nation, we've lost our grip on the idea that the rule of law is even something to hope for.

And you take that as an answer. Are you a reporter or not? Stupid question gets a stupid answer and you think you've done your job. You have less credibility than Carrion (who is a piece of shit but at least he can deflect ineffectual reporters).

Heeeeellllllloooooooo!!! Where have you been sleeping? "Only 10 months to go?

The world can't wait another second for these flagrant criminals, overreaching, war criminals to meet justice. Holding hearings is the first step in a long road, but to allow any public servant to abuse their office the way Bush and Cheney have, without severly reprimanding them would be even worse of a crime. It would tarnish the Office of The President & Vice President, and send a clear signal that "once you're in, do whatever you want".

Go Vermont!!! I hope New York adopts the same arrest-on-sight policy towards these war criminal chicken hawks.

What's REALLY hurting America right now are these fake neo-conservative-patriot liars crony-capitalist Republicans, who cry crocodile tears and fake outrage and are total hypocrites. They use wedge issues for personal political gain.

Zach (not verified) says:

Ha ha. Like Democrats don't use wedge issues for political gain, especially in New York. Idiot.
