In the Gramercy Park Hotel’s Rose Bar on Monday, Feb. 4, socialite Fabian Basabe and actor Dylan McDermott were among those attending a party for designer Serge Azria’s fashion label Joie. “For the brand to get a bit more famous,” explained co-host Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, daughter of French Vogue editor Carine (also in attendance) and an old friend of Mr. Azria’s, older brother to BCBG’s Max.

Her brother Vladmir moved here a month ago and is already dating the model Lily Donaldson, who was dancing athletically in the corner, and is friends with sometime Paris Hilton boy-toy Stavros Niarchos. “He’s finding his way,” Mr. Restoin-Roitfeld said.

“The guy is gorgeous,” added another co-host, Theodora Richards, daughter of Rolling Stones guitarist Keith. “He’s like a really put-together Jesus. He doesn’t want to be in everybody’s face. He has such a sweet heart. You will melt in his arms.”

Ms. Richards, currently the vice president of design for 4 Stroke Jeans, was wearing gold American Apparel leggings as pants and a tiny vintage sweater. “Today I was walking around all day thinking, ‘What the fuck am I going to wear tonight?’” she said. “When you need to spruce it up a bit, Spandex seems to do it. …”

Earlier, “Gimme Shelter,” featuring her dear ol’ dad, had blared from the speakers. “I still to this day don’t know all the lyrics,” Ms. Richards said. “I’m a big fan, but I’m not No.1 or anything. People look at me like ‘What did they just say?’ and I have no fucking idea.”

Which reminded her. “I was with my dad in the car today, and they played ‘Ruby Tuesday’ on the radio. Then they were talking about Rudy dropping out of the race. You know, Goodbye, Rudy Tuesday. … We had the biggest laugh.”
