Lovely, charming -- Obama apparently is to never ever hire women lest feminist Hillary supporters fly into a rage (Caroline Kennedy betrayed women, only Hillary is qualified to be VP, hiring Doyle was the "biggest fuck you" ever?). And btw, Observer -- going on "background" with information is never for quotation, or didn't ya know? I suspect you're going to be having some fun moments in the newsroom later today.

It's would be odd to hire a VP candidate's chief of staff before the VP candidate is selected. So the VP must have been selected already.

Clintons need to get with the program and start redeeming themselves by helping unite the party & get Obama elected, instead of checking their vendetta lists and eating/drinking sour grapes.

I assume the original commenter was referring to the Democratic party of today, rather than the party throughout history. If you doubt the veracity of his/her comment as it applies now, check with Joe Lieberman.

As an Independent, I watch with mingled disgust, amusement, and fascination as this Democratic psychodrama lamely drags itself out. No one can say the party isn't reaping what it's sown in terms of political correctness, entitlement, and bile. Did they not realize how double-edged all their positions are?

(The Republicans, of course, have experienced their own version of this payback syndrome.)

The saddest aspect of it all is that now more than ever, relatively sane young people must be turning away in droves from the prospect of getting involved in political life. And the rest of us are left to clean up after the tantrum-throwing children who wish either to represent, or become, our "leaders."

You see, the President had criteria to meet before he sent the troops to war. He did not meet the criteria to take our country to war that was established in the resolution. BUSH took this country to war.

God damn America, people! Barack Obama is going to finally make our country a place we can be proud of! All we need to do is take away the guns (which will eliminate crime), make friends with terrorists (which will eliminate war), and let the government set your thermostats and outlaw SUVs (which will save the environment). And we'll pay for it all by taxing rich Republicans, who got us into this mess to start with. Then we can stop saying "God damn America" and start saying "God bless America."

If you have been paying attention Geraldine remained loyal to Clinton, and attached Obama even after she was fired. Plus let's remember that Obama has thrown some people under the bus for similar reasons.
