To say the least, I find it rather humorous and interesting to read Elton John's fundraising efforts, in behalf of Hillary Clinton, may be violating American campaign laws. Oh, really! Let's get real! I think this is a minor campaign law technicality, and rather trivial, compared to John McCain's birth in the Panama Canal Zone.

John McCain was born in the Panama Canal Zone, which may be a major obstacle and conflict with his presidential aspirations. BTW, the Panama Canal Zone is not a suburb of Panama City, Flordia. No! The Panama Canal Zone is located in the southern part of Central America, and is not in the United States.

The American Constitution states that the President must be a natural-born Citizen. What the founding fathers exactly meant is up to interpretation and debate, and certainly this issue has to resolved soon. Granted, John McCain:

1. Was born and the year was 1936.

2. Was born in the au naturel ( nekkid ). In other words, John McCain was born in his birthday suit--nekkid or naked.

3. Is an American citizen.

From my point of view just being born in the au naturel ( naked ), and being an American citizen doesn't quite raise the bar high enough to call 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue home.

If Elton John doesn't get a free pass with his Hillary Clinton fundraising, John McCain shouldn't get a free pass with his Panama Canal Zone birth.

when john mccain was born in the panama canal zone it was an american territory.

idiot.

Elton John is a British citizen who is making a campaign donation to Hillary Clinton by performing at a fundraising event. He in turn is trying to influence U.S. citizens.

It would be analagous to Tony Blair being the guest of honor at a fundraiser for a politician.

Apparently McCain's Panama Canal Zone birth is going to be a hot button issue. Legal scholars are in doubt as to how to interpret the Constitution. Some people may intepret "natural-born citizen" differently. There's a lot of fine lines.

From what I've read a lawsuit against McCain is most likely a sure thing, if he wins the presidential election in November. Moreover, any American citizen can file a lawsuit against McCain. So if McCain should win the election, the Supreme Court will be the ultimate authority, and they will be forced to make a ruling fast.

High-profile people, and especially famous gay entertainers, may have the letter of the law applied to them unfairly. Mr. VIP politician may break numerous campaign and filing laws, but it's overlooked. Elton John is Elton John, so he doesn't get a free pass.

Elton John is a wonderful human being, and he has contributed millions to American charitable organizations--including his own AIDS foundation. He owns a condo in Atlanta and his partner, David Furnish, just recently purchased a condo in West Hollywood. They pay a lot of taxes--money that we desperately need since our coffers are on the slim side as a result of Bush's great spending habits.

America is lucky to have this gay couple as part-time residents.

Simple! Elton John is not an American Citizen. Who cares if he pays taxes here! None of what Hillary is promising pertains to him and the Clinton Campaign should have thought twice when booking him for a fund raiser. The law is blind and if it is found that it is a violation of campaign fundraising law to have a non-citizen raise money for your campaign then the Clinton Campaign should return the money or donate it to Elton's prestigious AIDS fund. The scrutiny is warranted because non-citizens shouldn't be influencing the decisions of the American People. It is un-American to the root.
