Obama Source: Poll Trouble in Brooklyn

A voting booth in Brooklyn.
A source with Obama's New York campaign claims there are problems with voting in parts of Brooklyn.
"There are a substantial amount of problems in a limited location," the source says, citing at at least eight polling locations that are having problems, concentrated in Bed Stuy, Fort Greene, East New York and East Flatbush.
These are also the areas where Obama's support in New York is strongest.

the city council better hold oversight hearings on this...what a disgrace...something tells me this isn't happening upstate
Figures. Surprise. Surprise.
This is everywhere in New York. I just voted in what, I think, is a strong Hillary precinct in Queens, and it is the same. The machines are crappy, the lines are long, and the poll workers are not exactly the most skilled. Upstate, it's far worse--they have six hours less to vote. That, really, is the outrage. So, is this unacceptable? For sure. Does it need to change? You bet. A conspiracy against Obama? Give me a friggin' break. I've voted in a number of states, and three NYC boroughs, over my lifetime. This is just how it is everywhere. So, to whoever posted that comment, do something about it. But, don't attribute it to some non-existant supression of the Obama vote.
I voted this morning in Stuyvesant Town and also had to vote by paper ballot (for Obama), with no privacy, because the machine for my precinct was broken. I expect Clinton to carry my Congressional district easily (unfortunately), so I think it's premature for people to suspect a Clinton conspiracy. On the other hand, I've lived here for 15 years and never before encountered a broken machine, and a woman who voted at the same time said that she's lived here for 29 years and never encountered one. The voting machine problem appears to be worsening, and NYS and NYC need to tackle it immediately or switch to paper ballots, with booths for privacy, for the November election.
Um....the really smart thing to do this fall if you want to avoid what is going to be a real fiasco is to vote absentee.
I voted in Clinton Hill, and even though I registered as a democrat over a year ago (just so I could vote in the primaries) they didn't have me on file. I filled out a paper ballot, but who knows where those go...
