Plouffe: Abandon All Hope

Obama campaign manager David Plouffe said on a conference call this morning that no matter what happens in Texas and Ohio on Tuesday, the Clinton campaign will not be able to make significant progress in cutting Barack Obama’s delegate lead.
“If this pledged delegate lead doesn’t drop below 100, they simply don’t have any avenue toward the nomination,” said Plouffe, echoing comments he made after the Wisconsin primary.
He added, “There’s a reality here. And the numbers aren’t arguable.” And, “The question is how many pledged delegates do they gain on Tuesday.”
Saying the Clinton campaign would have to make “huge gains” in delegates on March 4, Plouffe added, “They are going to fail.”
Talking specifically about Texas, and a reported threat by Clinton aides to sue the Texas Democratic Party for its complicated delegate selection process and to delay results of some caucuses, Plouffe said, “The Clinton campaign has deep anxiety.” The Obama campaign manager argued that Clinton aides threatening such a suit “don’t want the people participating in those caucuses having their results reported in a timely fashion.”
In the question-and-answer period, Plouffe was asked repeatedly about a new ad by the Clinton campaign that suggested that in a time of crisis, Obama would not be ready.
Plouffe responded, “Senator Clinton has already had her red-phone moment,” referring to her vote to authorize the war in Iraq.
“Senator Obama has made the right judgments,” he said.

Well Rush Limbaugh told his listeners to vote for Hillary this one time so that the turmoil in the Democratic party would continue.
Nice.
The Clinton camp seems to have woken up to the fact that their only hope is to attack Senator Obama's experience. But this ad does a poor job in driving home the point in my opinion. Count on the late night comedians to pick up on the 3.00 am phone call!
Hillary Rodham Clinton is sounding/looking more and more like the "Goldwater Girl" she is, every day. NYC residents want Barack Obama to answer that phone in a crisis. Attacking Iraq while we keep getting the greatest hits from the guy who architected the 9/11 attacks (you don't see HIM make her commercials -- as NY's Junior Senator? - not even on HER radar!) is tiresome. OH and TX, don't fall for the fearmongering from Hillary Clinton/John McCain (now, there's a neo-con/neo-lib ticket!). No more plastic sheets on our windows in NYC! The Junior Senator from NY has NO SHAME. We live our lives each and every day knowing what can happen -- and now prefer JUDGEMENT, PLANNING/EXECUTION/PREPARATION and no more no-bid contracts from Bush/Clinton/Bush cronies -- or Dubai Port (Bill?) and other deals where Americans go from $28./barrel oil to $100./barrel in 7 years - and the tab to defend the entire Middle East region and sustain their non-working people -- while Europe and Asia prepare for the aging of their boomers and provide universal healthcare to THEIR citizens. Hillary Clinton has too much to prove re her war-mongering street cred...as a woman. She is driven by it and the neo-cons LOVE her. Remember THEM??? She won't prove she is as tough as a man on OUR future. Her commercial demonstrates that WARFARE is the prism of her very existence. Warfare in The White House. Warfare in her marriage. Warfare w/former/present staffers. Warfare against the "stupid" voters who are swooning for Barack. Warfare re healthcare. WARFARE!!! Angry, TOXIC WARFARE! Turn the page!
Renatam, you already posted the same thing on another article...think up something original for each post please; at least if you expect people to read the tomes you feel the need to put on here.
Lenny: The beauty of this transitional year is men no longer can dictate to women. That is also the beauty of blogs. Go watch "Mad Men." Turn the page.
I'm in Texas and working as a precinct captain rounding up democrats to attend the caucus. Also as an ex New Yorker, I can attest to the convoluted election process here. The Obama people should also be upset. Their major strong hold are the urban areas and they have promised to create as much havoc as they can to obstruct the precinct convention process. As an independent working this year as a Democrat I will tell you that the process is subject to manipulation (thanks to the old Democrats who used it to get their people in office and intimidate their opponents.)I promised myself that after this election I am devoting my energy to change the system.
We in this country should start thinking of the one vote one person and eliminate the delegate system as it is. Delegates must and should represent the majority precinct vote. In Texas once a delegate is appointed he/she can vote any which way they want despite their precinct outcome. Now how ph--ked is that? Texas is up in the air right now and I'm sure that a lot of people will not represented honestly.
After attending rallies in Austin, I saw how sleazy the Obama volunteers are conducting themselves, e.g., using public school marching bands at the rallies which is against the law. The press not to my surprise misrepresented the body count. there were thrice as many Hillary supporters there yet they videoed the Obama crowd a larger. I am working for the Hillary campaign -- the biased is too loaded with women hating.
I'm thinking that the same lack of fair play will work itself into the caucus and that will tip the scales for either side. May the best woman win!!
I just had a thought: All males born after December 31, 1959 by law have to register for Selective Service (aka the draft). Do we know if Senator Barack Obama registered? He was born August 4th of 1961. If not, why not?

Well, if you have Obama's social security number, we could look it up, now couldn't we.
