Romney Keeps Future Options Open
In part, Mitt Romney was simply accepting reality—rather than spending millions more from his own pocket to fight it—when he suspended his campaign today.
With John McCain's delegate lead, the G.O.P.'s delegate distribution rules, and the lingering presence of Mike Huckabee, there was simply no plausible way for Romney to beat out McCain for the nomination.
But his move, which he couched in terms of party unity, could also be seen an effort to preserve his viability for 2012, should McCain go down to defeat this fall.
"If I fight on in my campaign all the way to the convention," he said today, "I would forestall the launch of a national campaign and make it more likely that Senator Clinton or Obama would win. And in this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign be a part of aiding a surrender to terror."
McCain could certainly win this fall, but the odds are also unusually good that 2008 will be a Democratic year, leaving the G.O.P. nomination for 2012 wide open—and without (at least yet) a clear heir apparent. While Romney's campaign failed to unite the conservative masses and jumped from theme to theme, he has secured the second-most votes on the G.O.P. side to date and has done enough to preserve his viability for the next time around. The last thing he needs is for his future opponents to be able to accuse him of sabotaging McCain—especially if it's Hillary Clinton who ends up winning.

Mitt Romney is a metaphor for what has gone terribly wrong with the values and no-talent/creativity we elevate in our society circa 2008. Like his peers at Merrill Lynch, City and George Bush and all those he appointed in his own Administration and in Iraq, a vacuousness and greed have driven out any semblance of high standards and ethics. What does Mitt Romney say about American business at-large, our economy, legacies for elites/dynasties and the limitations of a bottom-line-only standard for American life??? How do we REALLY know Hillary Clinton is as talented as she says and we are not looking at a 3rd term for her husband, instead? During Mitt's Campaign I continually began to call him George Romney, who he CONSTANTLY relied upon and reminded us of throughout. As with Hillary and George W. Bush, (over)dependence upon a talented family member or legacy, has its limitations. Due to the costs of higher education, Reagan tax policies and other factors, we have become a Nation of dynasties and legacies in Government and business...and it doesn't much matter whether or not you are Right or Left since both take care of the other in a revolving door of special interests, lobbying, think tanks, university appointments, corporate boards, etc. The American people are just their currency, without even the benefit of secure healthcare while we carry elites and the world's security. This must come to an end.
While at a Mitt rally outside of Tampa a few weeks ago, I met a Tampa TV producer who grew up in Czechoslovakia under Communism. He interviewed me for a few minutes after which we chatted. I asked him what in God's name was taking place inside the media / journalism world today. He asked me if I remembered Nikita Khruschev, the old Soviet Dictator, who infamously said "We will bury you!". I did remember and told him I remember him also saying that "we will not bury you militarily, but from within". With all seriousness, the TV producer said, "what you are witnessing H E R E and N O W, through the MSM is the incremental takeover of the United States by the COMMUNISTS, not Socialists, but Communists!"

It is IDENTICAL it to the Democrat Party's own platform and agenda led by the likes of Clinton, Obama, Kennedy, et al. This is no obscure website people! It has a fairly high traffic ranking and interestingly, is even more visited/popular than www.washingtondc.com.
This is VERY scary folks and is why if Hussein Obama OR Clintons end up in the White House next January, it could very well be too late to stop this secret coup. I believe that once they're in office they will do all they can to silence talk radio via the "Fairness Doctrine". Then they'll figure out a way to silence free speech like this on the internet.
I'm doing everything I can to let anyone and everyone I know that this is happening. And I don't care what their political stripe is. The bottom line is that we ALL need to get VERY serious about what is taking place and start spreading the word every day, one person at a time.
