At the Westminster Dog Show: Meet Pricilla (Ch. Extacee Neon Moon)

Sara Vilkomerson

We spent last night at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show at Madison Square Garden.

File this under things we didn't know about the dog show: There is a lot of frantic grooming during the commercial break. (Like morning television programs, perhaps?) And howling ... how come you can't hear that on TV? (Again ...) Also? When did Bloodhounds get so popular?

Early on we met poor Pricilla (Ch. Extacee Neon Moon), a Corgi that did not have such a good day yesterday, failing to place in her breed. “She just got over a skin infection, too,” said her owner Heather Masch, who was wearing an awesome “New Jersey is for Lovers” T-shirt (holla!). “I think she got it from the special shampoo I tried when I was getting ready for the show,” she said. Pricilla didn’t seem unhappy with the loss, and Ms. Masch remained in good spirits. “It was both of our first years here,” she said. “Hopefully, we’ll be back.”

More of that kind of thing coming right up!
