Americans know their Piaf, that's the problem in this film called "La vie en rose"
Exagerated,over made up,forever long,hysterical,more make up with each sequence,Please!!
I did cry ,from exhaustion of having to sit through a lot of fabrications,oh! excusez moi, those are "the feelings" the Director(Olivier dahan) got when resarching the subject. From Directing MTV videos to a biopic on Edith Piaf,S'il vous plait! Has anyone seen him at a Q@A,he wouldn't talk to the audience because he knew nothing about Piaf,he just went with "Feelings",a photo so he said.
Now is there a lip-synch award to be given to Marion Cotillard, let's call it the Milli vanelli award.
Hysteria does not equal Piaf.
Piaf was about a voice that captured the mood of paris in the 40's.
This film exhausted me. I saw Piaf at carnegie hall in the 50's,so far from the portrait that dahan and Cotillard lent their talent to. Oh Well,c'est la vie!
