The development of solar technology is certainly worthy of the tremendous investment suggested but we are a long way from a solar powered world. Electricity is a unique commodity in that it must be produced at virtually the same instant that it is being used. It can be stored with various technologies but is very expensive to do so. Generating power when the sun is out is the easy part. What to do about the cloudy and rainy days is the challenge.
