taxpaying voter (not verified) says:

Squirrelling away taxpayers' money to dole out to groups to buy their votes is public corruption. Using that money to give preferential treatment to some council members for support of this or that bill is public corruption. Let's call it what it is.

We taxpaying New Yorkers elected 51 council members to decide what's right for the city, not one. And if there had been public debate among those 51 members about whether to create phony groups to park money, I doubt it would have happened.

How much of the $4 million that got stashed this year was used to buy support for Quinn's 2009 run for mayor?

Aren't we sick of corrupt politicans?
