Hillary: A Job America Has To Do
We cannot cede sovereignty over critical infrastructure like our ports. This is a job that America has to do.-Hillary at a Miami fundraiser earlier today, reports NBC.
Hillary is scheduled to attend the Jewish Community Relations Council's legislative breakfast this Sunday at the 92nd Street Y.
Maybe there will be an encore performance of this part of her speech.

Cede soverignty? They're not going to be flying their flag, or keeping the American military out if they want to come in. Christ, it's a business deal. All of these states that are up in arms have offices in London. Maybe they don't bother to read the FT.....
Bin Laden built his entire organization with "business deals", thats how his family got to know the Bushies. You dance with who brung ya. Bush won re-election with fear, threats, flag waving, patriotism, saber-rattling, Compassionate Crusade Christianity. Now its "just a business deal". As you sow, so shall ye reap.
Hillary pander to the Jewish Relations group?? what do you think??
About you for making that comment Bubba?
not sure what Anon 1102 pm has in mind. spell it out kid!
Just wondering what motivated you to make your comment at 6:37?
It was a simple question about what Hillary would say and do in front of the Jewish group. I am sure she wont disappoint them: Hamas bad; port deal bad; arabs bad, Israel our only ally in the Mideast; Olmert is Sharon successor; Democracy great in Mideast; Can't take sides in Israeli election: whoops!!!
She may be right on most of the issues here, but it shouldnt be necessary for her to bow down. It makes her transformation from kissing Suha Arafat seem so inappropriate.
Bubba,
A nation that aided the 9/11 terrorists may gain control of some of our most vital ports and instead of faulting that, you start talking about "pandering" to a Jewish group. I think that kinda says it all.
Hey. The Jewish groups say that President Bush is the most pro-Israel; anti-terror, pro-security President we've ever had. Maybe we should trust him, maybe not. But our elected officials need to be prepared to tell it like it is, not because they think it will get applause.
Not everyone who is Jewish supports or trusts Bush. In fact many think he is a total fraud. And "like it is" is that 9/11 was a mass murder committed on U.S. soil by Arab terrorists. That doesn't seem to bother you though. What bothers you is Jewish groups. Like I said your statements really speak for themselves.
Jewish groups don't bother me. Politicians who blatantly pander to them all the while thinking that they can kiss up to Arafat's wife and anyone else, including Saudi royalty (both Bush and Clinton do it now), and the Jewish groups give them standing ovations for pure rhetoric.
Obviously Jewish groups do bother you. Otherwise you wouldn't keep harping on them Your generalizations are extremely insulting. You seem to be very bothered by Jewish groups and not at all bothered by Hamas or handing over our ports to a nation that aided the 9/11 terrorists.
I am bothered by fake Jewish leaders (how many of them squeeze into the Presidents Conference) too many to count who purchase their organizations so they can be named President and get their photo ops. they sell their independence and the entire Jewish community out for oh let's see, a meeting with Abbas, a picture with George W. Bush, a trip to Israel with Hillary Clinton or locally the opportunity to stand with Pataki or Bloomberg for some ridiculous press conference.
It's time the Jewish community got wise and more democratic. We need Jewish leaders who work hard (not simply write checks) and skip the honor (kovod in Hebrew) and B.S. attention.
Let's see some gravitas in Jewish leadership, not the "yessir" brand that kisses up to the powerful.
Believe me, I care about Jewish leadership. And sadly, we have none.
So what do you think about Hamas and where do you stand on the port deal? Could you just come out and say it?
Since I am running for office, I will be glad to tell you where I stand on Hamas and Port deal.
I cant stand Hamas - they are murderous terrorists. The only good news is that the world can see what Israel has to deal with without the sugar coating of the Palestinian Authority.
The Port deal is, of course, complex. But I think the Bush Administration played too fast and loose with the rules and the deal should be rejected. America should have companies who can handle its own Ports (of course in the old days all the ports were run by the mob).
Hope this is satisfactory and I can get your endorsement.
I can now back your candidacy 100% Thanks Bubba.
