He wished to die and become a martyr. He will be denied that wish and will regret his existence in the confines of concrete till the end of his natural life.Let him rot.

lets see how long he survives in prison. anyone want to start a pool?

Ike (not verified) says:

We should have simply given him death. To hell with his wish to be a martyr. Frankly, we should gladly do all we can to speed those who "want to be martyrs" onto their way into the next life. The strength of being a martyr tapers off when all those around you are becoming one.

Its not that I felt mercy should rule in this case. Why stop with the revenge at this point? If we'll fight a war as an election campaign based on revenge why stop with one assholes life? But there are practical considerations.

If he actually knew Bin Laden, or was an operative in Al Quaeda then he certainly has some valuable information stored in his memory banks that it would be important to at some point collect. If he doesn't then what were we killing him for?

Its like when a loan shark has someone stiff him on the payment. Killing him will not get the loan repaid.

Only by keeping him alive will we ever have any hope of learning anything from him.

neversleep (not verified) says:

His defense attorney reminded the jury that he might prove valuable as "trade bait" for future hostages.

We can now await bids.

When was the last time anyone was jumped by the Thuggees or mugged by a Carthaginian?

Jeffrey Daumer (not verified) says:

Put him in the general poplulation. and let him get the royal plunger treatment for each and every soul that the United States has lost in the War on Terror.
