Last Minute Rumors and Conspiracies
1) The Cuomo campaign is in negotiations to cut a deal with Denise O'Donnell to keep Mark Green from getting on the ballot. (This, based on an earlier sighting of her son Jack - one of the nicest people in state politics - deep in conversation with Emily Giske.)
2) The Cuomo campaign is in negotiations to cut a deal with Mark Green to keep Denise O'Donnell from getting on the ballot.
And now Ben is reporting that Green's aides have given up hope of getting to 25 percent.
What does it all mean? If Cuomo is the only candidate to get to 25, which of the other candidates will see the race through to the end? And if the field narrows, will any of them be able to compete with Cuomo's money and institutional support?
Help us.

It means that the next time you hear a NY Democrat talk about being in the party of inclusion, or discuss their dedication to democracy, feel free to laugh out loud.
Keeping people off the ballot is what they aspire to do in third world countries - only with weapons instead of words.
What is Andrew so scared of? Losing another election? I love when politicans treat elections as mere nuisances and technicalities.
Like when Green threw in the towel to Giuliani on whether the November 2001 election should proceed?
What it all means is that Cuomo plays a good game of backroom politics -- the only thing he has ever been good at -- but that he has no apparent qualifications to serve as Attorney General of the State of New York. He is desparately trying to throw up enough political roadblocks so that the voters never see someone like Denise O'Donnell or Mark Green who who could stand in Spitzer's shoes.
REGARDLESS of polls and money, Cuomo and O'Donnell are the top picks: Voters will be naturally drawn to them.
Cuomo, due to his name, money, and over-powering presence. People like tough guys.
O'Donnell due to her gender & because she's from upstate. She also was a tough prosecutor. She has star appeal.
The other candidates r just going no where. esp mr. maloney, how in god's name did that man get into the race?
Cuomo's name, money, and overpowering presence didn't help when he ran for Governor.
Why should this race be any different? It's not like Carl McCall was a very formidable candidate.
Interesting to see how everyone thinks on the "outside."
RE: "Clinton..."..All I can say is, Cuomo is in good standing. Maloney....well, he is a clown. I am older gay male and I will not give him support. And neither will most gays including Stonewall Democrats. Maloneys political future, is, finished.
Maloney has support from a lot of gay politicos in the city, and may still win Stonewall - the vote isn't until next week, and he was very very well received there last week!
mark green flames out earlier than predicted...
Marisa, dont kid yourself. Maloney is FINISHED
Emily gave the same story to Ben Smith. Emily Giske doesnt even control the State Committee person in Chelsea. The story is a complete lie and if there were going to be any deals, Emily would be the last person involved. You got rolled by the next public scandal for Quinn: Emily Giske.
Emily Giske works for Bolton St. Johns the same group of lobbyist that is support Carl Andrews Norman partner in crime.
Wait till some reporter covers her rantings in the Albany bars about how she controls Andrew Cuomo.
or Emily's rants on Cruise Ships about how she controls Cuomo...and her invites to SOHO House so she can tell you how she controls Cuomo....I was on the cruise ship and had to listen to it all....
What was up with Deni Green screaming at Carlos Manzano on the floor? She's usually so tranquil.
