Mark Green's Book

1losingourdem.gif

Mark Green has a new book entitled Losing Our Democracy: How Bush, the Far Right and Big Business Are Betraying Americans For Power and Profit. And even if Mark doesn't necessarily have John Kerry's endorsement in his campaign for attorney general, his book does.

However, according to Sourcebooks, Inc., his publisher:

This is not, however, just another Bush-bashing book, this is a call-to-arms to all the people in America who cherish our freedom and who are sick and tired of seeing rich, born-again, politicians line their pockets so that special interests can have whatever they want at the America people's expense. Subjects include voter suppression, religious, corporate, and legislative tyranny, so-called tort reform, the problem of purchased politicians and the far right's Stone-Age approach to race and civil rights.

It seems Mark will be taking his book campaign to the streets, starting tomorrow with a stop at the Barnes & Noble on 86th and Broadway, and then next week in Washington, DC, at the Politics and Prose bookstore.

Pretty strange going to DC for a book signing so close to Primary,

You gotta be f-ing kidding me? The guy's going on a tour of wonky bookstores in the District of Columbia 5 weeks out from his primary?! HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!

Say hello to Attorney General Jeanine Pirro.

Dica bongiorno a Andrew Cuomo.

Does Green have a special chapter on great concession speeches?

Nassau Nell (not verified) says:

Jeanine Pirro is going to win.

Silly posts. Green is apparently going down to DC for one event on one day.

And considering the press/blog play he's getting on his book, not a bad thing for him.

Can Cuomo's coloring book and Pirro's marriage primer be far behind?

This is like going out any buying Bill Buckner's book on how to effectively field your position.

Some interesting chapters in Mark's new book:

- How to lose a campaign in the final hours.
- How to make people dislike you.
- How to keep going to the well of contributors over and over and over again.

And my personal favorite:
Brother Steve, Can You Spare A Dime?

Since Andrew Cuomo has difficulty stringing two sentences together, it's expected that his hit squad of Cunningham & Percoco would find fault in a book that takes on the Bush Administration.

I really don't have a horse in the race -- but more and more I am starting to intensely dislike Mark's preachings.

I for one will not be buying the book.

Reality Check (not verified) says:

Mark Green is simply attempting to capitalize on his name recognition to sell more books before he looses his primary election. Since he now faces an "electability" issue (given the recent poll that shows him clinging to a 4 point lead against Pirro), he needs to drum up some support for his lackluster campaign by seeking to portray himself as an ideological foil to President Bush. The problem is he's running for attorney general and is facing a primary opponent (Cuomo) who is also ideologically opposed to Bush. The book signing is not going to make one bit of difference one way or the other. We have learned however that the poster above who noted that the book signing is a one-day appearance is a Green insider (privy to such information) and nothing more than a shill attempting to drum up support for Green.

Green wins this issue hands down, since you are all posting about his book: good, bad, indifferent.

Thanks for playing!

Another book to explain why he lost again? Oh- and real impressive, the Bush administration is wrong, a little late to the dance there Marky boy...
