Carl Bernstein Joins CNN

Via The Huffington Post: CNN announced yesterday evening that veteran investigative reporter Carl Bernstein will join the network's political team for the 2008 presidential campaign. No word on whether Mr. Bernstein, who recently published the book A Woman in Charge: The Life of Hillary Clinton, will appear with Watergate partner Bob Woodward, another sometime CNN contributor.

Interestingly, in CNN's press release, Mr. Bernstein praises the network for demonstrating "time and again a sincere effort to go beyond the horserace." That seems to be an attribute CNN is stressing lately -- whether or not it's actually, you know, true, is another matter.

Bernstein Writes the Book on Hillary

Carl Bernstein's next book: A biography of Hillary Clinton.

The deal is with Alfred A. Knopf, according to a press release issued this morning.

The title, A Woman In Charge: The Life of Hillary Rodham Clinton, seems a rather hopeful one given her current presidential bid. read more »

Bernstein: Hillary Book on Track

I wound up a bit mystified in this week's story over what had become of Watergate icon Carl Bernstein's promised book on Hillary Clinton.

I didn't manage to reach Bernstein before the issue went to press, and the Knopf spokesman would only say that the manuscript hadn't been delivered.

Bernstein called yesterday to clear it up:

"The book will be published by Knopf next year," he said.
