Arianna Huffington on Internet Porn

A Huffington Post luncheon at the Nicollet Island Inn earlier today explored how "the new media are impacting the '08 race." Hosted by Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, the panel was conducted like a TV show, the hosts agreeing with each other and sometimes talking over the panelists, who included Tony Blankley, Huffington, Laura Ingraham, David Kralik, Cyrus Krohn, and Peggy Noonan.

The hot topic for discussion was whether the Internet drove the Sarah Palin pregnancy story.

As in any media panel, discussion also touched on how to make people pay to visit web sites. "Usually the only people pay for online is porn," Huffington said. "And weird porn."

"People come on the show and then they just stay," said Joe Scarborough. "This happened in Iowa, too, and New Hampshire. It has just sort of turned into the place to hang out."

It was shortly after 9 a.m. on Thursday morning, and Mr. Scarborough had just finished co-anchoring five hours of Morning Joe for MSNBC live from Sam's No. 3—a breakfast-burrito-serving bar and grill in downtown Denver.

Morning Memo: Jessica Alba and Friends Show Up in Denver, But Barack Obama Keeps His Distance

Barack Obama's campaign managers are focused on keeping celebrities off the stage and out of sight of cameras in order to prevent further "celebrity" attacks from the McCain camp.
That's not stopping them from coming to Denver, though. Rosario Dawson, Jessica Alba, Eva Longoria, Fat Joe, Wilmer Valderrama and Sofia Vergara will reportedly party tonight at the Voto Latino DNC event in Denver.

Dan Abrams will stay in the MSNBC anchor chair in the 9 p.m. slot, instead of managing the cable network's news report, The New York Times reports; that means that Joe Scarborough will remain in the morning position previously occupied by Don Imus.

MSNBC said today that Dan Abrams, who has been the host of a 9 p.m. news hour called “Live with Dan Abrams” temporarily since July, will stay in the job permanently, leaving behind the managerial position he had occupied for a little over a year.
