The Landmarks Preservation Commission just announced the landmark designation of the Seaman Cottage (top picture) on Staten Island, a two-and-a-half-story Greek Revival house built in 1836-37 in Richmondtown, the "historic governmental center of Staten Island."
The house was moved earlier this year from 218 Center Street to 441 Clarke Avenue, which gave The Real Estate an excellent idea on how to save two other beloved New York buildings that are in danger of being "renovated" beyond recognition. read more »

If the Campaign Finance Board were actually campaigning for anything, they'd be in deep, deep trouble! The Brian Lehrer Show blog reveals that, much like the Virginia Fields crew, the CFB took a class in Photoshop and learned that "Clip art can even reflect the fabulous mosaic that is New York."
