William O'Reilly

KT Talking Points

I think KT aide William O'Reilly has been taking notes from Ben Smith.

Here's what Ben wrote on March 22 in The Observer:

[Spencer's] suggestion that Mrs. Clinton's hidden hand has influenced the Republican primary process wasn't far off. It's just that far from conspiring against the plainspoken Mr. Spencer, Mrs. Clinton has helped turn him into the front-runner for the Republican nomination to oppose her.

And here's O'Reilly speaking in today's AP story:

"Hillary Clinton and her campaign team obviously would prefer to run against John Spencer, so they are taking potshots at KT McFarland every chance they get," said McFarland aide William O'Reilly. "It's the right strategy for them."

Smacking Spencer

Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson and KT McFarland spokesman William O'Reilly both denied John Spencer's allegation that McFarland is a Clinton plant, and took their shots at the GOP frontrunner.

Wolfson: "If Mr. Spencer wants to know why Republicans keep trying to find alternatives to him he should look in the mirror."

O'Reilly: "I really should start writing these down. And to think, this is someone who could have gone unchallenged."

A Question for KT

(Yes, today is KT day. Sorry. It'll be over soon.)

A reader writes: "If as she claims she rose among Kissinger's typing pool, did she type the transcripts of his wiretaps?"

She's on Hardball today at 5. Maybe Matthews can ask her.

Also, no reply yet from KT spokesman on why the candidate doesn't use punctuation with her initials.

UPDATE: McFarland spokesman William O'Reilly emails: "She started being called that at the Pentagon by people working for her. I have no problem with the periods, though."
