Laura Ingraham
Arianna Huffington on Internet Porn
A Huffington Post luncheon at the Nicollet Island Inn earlier today explored how "the new media are impacting the '08 race." Hosted by Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, the panel was conducted like a TV show, the hosts agreeing with each other and sometimes talking over the panelists, who included Tony Blankley, Huffington, Laura Ingraham, David Kralik, Cyrus Krohn, and Peggy Noonan.
The hot topic for discussion was whether the Internet drove the Sarah Palin pregnancy story.
As in any media panel, discussion also touched on how to make people pay to visit web sites. "Usually the only people pay for online is porn," Huffington said. "And weird porn."
Ingraham on Iraq Casualties: 'We’ve Seen Enough of the Horror With the High-Tech Hollywood'
Is Laura Ingraham brushing up on her Baudrillard?
According to Time Magazine's Swampland blogger Ana Marie Cox, radio host (and Fox News fill-in presenter) Laura Ingraham can't tell the difference between reality and Hollywood special effects.
Ms. Cox recounts the story of Zoriah Miller, a photographer who lost his embed assignment for posting pictures of Marines killed in Iraq on his Web site. (Note: Link goes to the main page, not the pictures in question.) Mr. Miller appeared on Ms. Ingraham's show where the host actually questioned the need for any photos from Iraq since, "We've seen enough of the horror, with the high-tech Hollywood, okay. We know what it is."
Quite apart from the Transformers and Mummies at the multiplex, Ms. Ingraham is no stranger to high-tech horrors. So maybe she is also already keenly aware of the devastating results of this war?
Fox News to Try Out Laura Ingraham on 5 P.M. show
Beginning on Monday, June 16th, conservative radio host Laura Ingraham will be guest-hosting the 5 p.m. hour on Fox News, the cable news channel announced today.
In February, Fox News executives replaced their longtime 5 p.m. anchor John Gibson with a show called America's Election HQ, anchored by Bill Hemmer and Megyn Kelly.
According to Brian Stelter of the New York Times, Fox News is searching for a new format at 5 p.m. and will be trying out a rotating cast of personalities beginning next week with Ms. Ingraham. read more »
Rudy's Abortion Issue
Since Rudy Giuliani gave his especially malleable answer to a question about whether Roe v Wade should be overturned during the Republican debate, conservatives have been increasingly scrutinizing the former mayor's abortion position. Now one of the candidate's in the Republican primary has explicitly said Giuliani's stance should prevent him from winning the nomination.
The campaign of Tom Tancredo, one of the staunch conservative presidential candidates running on the periphery of the Republican field, just released the following statement.
A number of inquiries have been received regarding Congressman Tancredo’s comment on ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos in response to the following question:
Can a pro-choice candidate like Mayor Giuliani win the nomination?
The Congressman responded “Yes”.
The question that was not asked was: “Should a pro-choice candidate like Mayor Giuliani win the nomination?
The answer to that question is, “Emphatically no; if a Republican President of the United States won’t vigorously fight to protect the life of the unborn, how long before the trend toward the culture of death becomes irreversible?”
The statement follows Giuliani's appearance on the talk show host Laura Ingraham, where she grilled Giuliani on his abortion stance and formerly active support for Planned Parenthood. read more »
